Event Details

Join us!

The annual conference of the British Society for Gene Therapy will be held on Friday 9th of March, 2012, at the UCL Institute of Child Health, London.

Objectives

Following on from the success of our recent collaborative congress with the ESGCT in Brighton, we are arranging a single day event with the aim of showcasing the work of young scientists.  Everyone in the stem cell and gene therapy community is welcome and encouraged to participate. As an additional motivation for early career scientists, MSc students, PhD students and early post-doctoral researchers, will have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of the conference and organisation. This will include reviewing abstracts, chairing sessions and presenting data.

Networking

There will be decent breaks throughout the day to allow poster viewing and networking with other delegates and following the conference, everyone will be strongly encouraged to move to a local pub for drinks The Lamb.

Membership

Registration for this meeting is much cheaper if you are a member of the Society. To find out more about membership click here.

Travel

The Institute is a short walk from King's Cross and Euston mainline railway stations, and is easily accessible by underground from other national and international rail terminals including Charing Cross, Waterloo, Victoria, Marylebone, Paddington and Liverpool Street. The closest underground stations are Holborn on the Central Line and Russell Square on the Piccadilly Line. Further details and links are available here.

The Institute has no parking facilities of its own, but is within short walking distance of National Car Parks in Marchmont Street and Judd Street.

Accommodation

There are many hotels within a short walk of the Institute of Child Health. Further information regarding hotel accommodation is available on request.

Make a weekend of it

The Institute is in central London offering delegates the ideal opportunity to explore places of interest, including the West End and Covent Garden, the British Museum and British Library, the South Bank Centre and the Barbican.
